Lets Continue the Fight for Decent Work

As we gathered in Berlin for the Decent Work Conference I think we were all reminded of the grave challenge that is ahead of us as trade union activists, as young poltical leaders and as civil society actors in meeting the challange of ensuring decent work and decent life for young people throughout the world. Throughout our discussions i think we also acknowledged that the commitments given by world leaders time and time again in relation to the promotion of decent work and indeed the fight for the eraditcation of poverty have not been fulfilled. Empty promises have been the norm. The renewed committment made in Berlin not only to lobby towards G8 leaders and world leaders as a whole but to continue the struggle for global workers rights, decent work for all and making equality, democracy and social justice a reality must be reinforced by all the member organisations of the decent work alliance organisations so that the campaign for decent work seeps into all the levels of our society so that all workers gain the belief that they have the fundamental right to decent work and workers rights.
